This work is based on my view of Mt Egmont, initially done in Indian Ink and water soluble oils. Once I was happy with the image I altered it further in Photoshop. The final image is 5×7″.

15_365 : can’t resist one more!
Today was a test – the puppy had to go to the vet. I took Mum for a semi-routine cardiac appointment at the hospital. The cardiac nurse went “omg” and sent her to the emergency dept. They went “omg” and transferred her by ambulance to Base Hospital 1 1/2 hours away. Then she spent over 5 hours in the emergency dept before being sent to the ward. She’s exhuasted and so am I.But the commitment remains unbroken – even if it is another scrapbook page to relax with.

14_365 : something a little different
Today my daily painting isn’t!! It’s a scrapbook page instead.As many of you know, we lost our wonderful Bulldog, Meg, to cancer last week. As part of the process of saying goodbye we received many, many messages of support, sympathy and love. I wanted to preserve these so I can look back at them in the years to come, as I look through Meg’s photo albums.
I kept the page very simple because the whole point is the letters, not the page decoration. The photo is one I took on the first day of Meg’s chemo treatment back in April 06. She looked so good, and we were so full of hope…

13_165 : getting ready to paint
I have spent part of the day planning out how I am going to try and turn these 3 Photoshop’d photos into paintings. I’ve decided to crop the image tight, keep the colours clean, and work in acrylics. All going well, I’ll make a start on the 1st one tomorrow.Share this:

And still thinking about whether I can successfully translate them into paint.
I’m at the “hmm, what would I use; oils? acrylics? mixed media?” stage, so that means it is probably going to happen soon. Watch this space…Not for sale.
