In a recent magazine, New Scientist probably, there was an article about the percentage of rams that are gay. Fascinating stuff. The scientists are trying to figure out what causes homosexuality in sheep, not so they can prevent it, just so they have more understanding. Interesting stuff. It got me thinking about all kinds of thing; numbers, percentages, religion, prejudice. Before I knew it, a collage was born – and I don’t know if it is gay or not!!!

Another collage, this time using a toner photocopy, acrylic glazes, gel pen, pieces out of magazines, cardstock and gel medium.I did this as a tribute to greater minds than mine!! Although I love weird science and maths, and read things like New Scientist and Scientific American, I’m not very good at it. Fascinated but hopeless basically LOL

43_365 : Delusions

Another in the collage series – spent much of the day playing with paper, glue, paint etc. Excellent. Then the resthome rang to say my Aunt had a wee stroke, fell and may have broken a hip. Spent the rest of the day at A&E trying not to let her confuse the medical staff – because of her dementia some of her answers are not exactly reliable!! No broken bones as it turns out, so that’s all good.

42_365 : summer heat

I’ve been working in more collages today for the International Collage Exchange that Dale Copeland organises each year.
One collage that I really liked as I put it together has dried wrinkly! Others have turned out well. This is one where I hand coloured watercolour paper, added patterned paper, tore up some more of the patterned paper and wove it together to form a block, then attached that to the base. The colours were inspired by the incredible heat here over the last few days.
