I am still pacing myself to look after my wrist, but have start making a few cards again. These started with a gelli print base using rose, purple, lemon and white, then adding words with a Carolyn Dube word stencil from Stencil Girl, layered hearts and detailing with a fine pen.

Testing the waters
I have been doing a little bit of crafting, just testing the waters to see how my wrist copes. In one word: badly! I can’t do much at a time and have to really pace myself but I am grateful to be able to do anything. I have been working in a circle journal using my Gelli Plate, Golden Hi Flow Fluros, Dyan Reaveley stamps (Ranger) and Glossy Accents.

Card making kind of day
This morning I did a mad dash through stuff I had to get done, then got out my Gelli Plate, Stencil Girl stencils plus a few random ones and some masks I had cut myself, and got to work making cards. I made more mess than cards, but can put more together tomorrow. I might even get a chance to do some letter writing. Life’s good when you have inky fingers time.
BTW the ink is not as patchy as it shows here; it’s something to do with the way my new all-in-one printer scans them. Honest!

Trying out a new process
This morning I have been Gelli printing onto heavy water colour paper that I prepared with a faux Chine Colle technique last night. In many ways, just fancy collage. I love the results I’m getting and can see lots more experimentation coming. I am thinking about adding words to these, but am not sure yet. As much as I love some of them, I don’t quite see them as finished pieces. Here’s what I have so far:

We bloomed!
This afternoon I held a mixed media class, Layered Steps: Bloom. Liz, Mollie, Sharon, Shei, Maria and Denise were awesome. They each did such a great job with their canvas and what I love is that, following the same process, each one ended up with something unique to them. We had such a good time that there’s definitely going to be more classes coming. Here are some pictures of the process, and a line up of the artists with their finished works.
