I’ve been playing with my Gelli Plate, a bunch of Stencil Girl stencils and some Dylusions paint to make painted paper. I like the Dylusions paint for gelli printing – it gives good coverage and doesn’t dry too quickly, even in the hot weather. Oddly enough, it dries fast in my art jounal. These painted papers have at least 2 layers, some have 4 layers, of paint. The prints will be cut up for card making or kept for in my art journal, collage projects, etc.

Making some general cards
I’ve spent the weekend finishing off the multi-step Christmas card pile, and had a few blanks left over. Rather than tuck them away unused, I decided to make a couple of general cards using a favorite StencilGirl stencil by Jessica Sporn and some leftover Gelli prints. The stamping is done with Dina Wakley paint, which has a lovely matt finish.

Trying out some art time
My shoulder and wrist are still quite sore if I do too much (please, never ever drink and drive – your careless actions could change someone else’s life forever), but I *needed* some art time. I grabbed some gelli print tissue paper, the June Stencil Girl stencils, a green Posca pen – which shows as white in the scan, and a fine black pen and got to work. The quotes in the circles through the centre are from Wishes Fulfilled by Dr Wayne W Dyer. I’ve been a fan of is writing for many years, and have been listening to this on audio as I drive to and from work each day.

Daily art journal cards – different tactic
I love my daily art journal card practice; it’s good for me and well worth keeping up. Scanning and posting is tricky, due to things happening in our house at the moment.
