Sad news

Our beautiful bulldog Meg went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday to be with all the other Angel dogs.

In April last year she was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer and we started chemotherapy straight away. It worked well and, except for one bad week, went without any real side effects.

Before Christmas we realised the treatment was no longer working and the cancer was back. We talked through our options with our vet and talked as a family – and decided not to try a rescue protocol as Meg had clearly had enough.

We have made the last few weeks as good as possible. Yesterday morning we fed her chocolate, told her she was our best baby, and cuddled her while our wonderful vet Rebecca helped Meg leave behind her tiredness and pain.

God speed Meg – my beautiful baby girl.

    Hey Cath,

(Sigh) I’m so sorry to read about Meg. What a beautiful girl. I have an idea of how sad you and your husband must be. We recently went through the same thing with one of our girls, a cat I had for many years. It’s so hard to say goodbye.

Cath, I’m so sorry, I totally empathise, I had a RC Collie for 16 years and had to get him put to sleep due to illness, so my heart is full of sadness for you,
    Blessings
