I had a day’s leave today so, apart from a bit of writing and some baking, I have spent the day playing with my art supplies. Some things went well, some didn’t, but it’s all fun regardless. These two pages in my old ledger book used acrylics, spray paint and Stencil Girl stencils.

Card making with some Gelli prints
I need a batch of ‘congratulations’ cards so this morning I got out my favourite paint colours, a bunch of Stencil Girl stencils and my trusty Gelli Plate. I’ve done layers with blue, teal, rose, purple and gold, and then stencilled on the black envelopes with gold as well. The palest of the cards is woven gelli print scraps, the darker cards are much more vibrant than they look but I’m having trouble with the scanner settings.

Testing the waters
I have been doing a little bit of crafting, just testing the waters to see how my wrist copes. In one word: badly! I can’t do much at a time and have to really pace myself but I am grateful to be able to do anything. I have been working in a circle journal using my Gelli Plate, Golden Hi Flow Fluros, Dyan Reaveley stamps (Ranger) and Glossy Accents.

Index cards and good words
Recently I spoke at the Ikaroa Hui – it’s a library thing. I made a bunch of Gelli-plate index cards with key words on them, then promptly forgot to share the Power Point I had made of them. Doh! So here are a few of them; some are words from ‘Instructions for a bad day’ by Shane Koyczan. BTW I got into index cards thanks to the wonderful Roo (Ruth Cahill) – thanks Ruth!
